Bitdefender - Can't install on a brand new MacBook Pro
I bought a brand new MacBook Pro, within a week I decided to play it safe and install an antivirus. I saw on several websites that Bitdefender didn't slow down the measured systems and that it provided good protection.
I can't really speak to that because I never got that far. Before I get into that, let me preface with an explanation that I work for a biotech company in process engineering. I literally use my professional experience and degree installing esoteric software and determining how it works to get our desired business results. After almost an hour trying to install this POS I had made no progress with the entire installer processing and failing at the end.
After a half-hour with their technical support they suggested that I do what I had already done four times; uninstall and reinstall. When their support agent ended our conversation before my issue was resolved I tried one more time and started a new support chat. I supposedly got the same agent and informed them that I was only interested in getting a full refund after canceling the 3 year subscription I had bought only hours before.
In their defense the most helpful thing they did was say they would escalate my issue, but only after trying to offer me a few months of free service for software that WAS NOT WORKING. We will have to see wha they do from here, but I certainly would not suggest Bitdefender.
